So I went from helping create and host an anniversary party to creating and hosting Taylor's 5th birthday party. Taylor had been talking about doing a fairy party, but I was a bit hesitant because I didn't want to leave any of the little boys out of the fun.
We decided on doing a "Woodland Theme" party.
Which would include fairies, woodland animals and gnomes.
I think we managed to pull off one of the best parties we've thrown so far to date! However, I am a little biased since I created it. ha!
I'll just go right into the pictures, I'm so excited to share this one with ya'll.
Below: Here is the invitation we decided on using, from OhCreativeOne on Etsy. Of course, this is just an example, we were celebrating a fifth birthday! :)
Above we'll start with some food: Cupcakes that I made, with white frosting, green gum paste leaves and cute cupcake toppers from Etsy. seller: Gwynn Wasson Designs. They turned out GREAT!
Also made cheese stick and tomato "mushrooms" and put out "twigs" which were the honey pretzel sticks from Trader Joe's. Yum!
Here are all the cupcakes, they looked so good! :) (if I do say so myself!)
Below: These really neat chocolate crackers are sold at Cost Plus. They are called chocorooms. So cool! but of course, I renamed them: "Mushrooms" for the kids. :)
Below: I found this edible glitter from a bakery store in the area, and decided to make regular ol' berries into "Glittery Wild Berries" for our fairy guests. :)
Close up of kids table: Snail rolls (Turkey sandwich rolls), Wands (Fruit Kebabs), Pillows (Meringues), Mushrooms (chocolate crackers and cheese and tomatoes), Twigs (Pretzels), Wild Berries (raspberries and blueberries), and cupcakes! YUMMY!
Below: Here is a wide shot of the party. We had decided to use this picnic site at a nearby park. This park (Laurelwood) was renovated recently and features a very neat playground and this very nice oak tree which worked great as our back drop to our fairy/gnome party! (Not seen is the two picnic tables we had set up for the adults)
Below: A closer table shot. I rented children's tables and linens. added fake flowers (bought at Joann's & Michael's) one in a cute tea cup pot and the other in a small polka dot watering can. I placed burlap as a runner to give it that added woodland feel. Each place setting had utensils rolled up, one blow roll thingy, and a small water. (to hold the plates in place)
Below: Close up of the glittery fairy wing favors hung on the backs of the chairs. I alternated them with Gnome hats that I made out of felt. Wings were purchased through Amazon.
Below: Taylor's reaction to the set up! She LOVED it!
My Big 5 Year Old:
Some Party Decor Below: Made with my Cricut Machine and some Scrapbook paper. Love my machine!
Below: The party favors were the fairy wings and gnome hats, but I decided to also include a little bag of sweets. I made these out of waxed paper bags, some Lime green raffia from Cost Plus, the Mushroom, Gnome, and owl tags were also from Cost Plus. inside I added some pastel colored taffy, dollar store play dough, and some tattoos.
Here are some shots of the party going on:
I hired a party entertainer for an hour, from Fire Pixie for those of you in the SF Bay Area. Shayna went beyond my expectations! She was amazing!! the kids were SO engaged the entire time! and absolutely loved it!
Bubbles! What fun! Especially if you call these "Magic Fairy Bubbles"!!
Face Painting!!
Above: I LOVE that the dads wore the gnome hats! I had originally made these for the boys, but the little boys had no problem wearing the fairy wings along with the girls! Thank goodness I over ordered the fairy wings and had extras!! This daddy picture above is so cute! what great sports! :)
Below: Another Shot of the super cool gnome dads and a some magic with Fairy Pixie!
Below: After the fairy left, it was cupcake time!
Below: Taylor blowing her sparkler "5". I had a friend buy this neat sparkling candle thing...but I was really disappointed. first off, it's really hard to light the thing. it took us 10 minutes to get it going.but Tay didn't mind.
Here the kids are enjoying the cupcakes! :)
Below: Taylor sitting with a friend. :)
Happy 5th Birthday Taylor! I hope you had a great time with your friends! I love you so much my darling little girl...to the moon and back.

thanks! ;)
I really liked these fabulous party pictures. Thanks a ton for this share. At some local Chicago venues I had also hosted the woodland themed baby shower for a friend. I created handmade crafts and vases for decorations. Everyone loved this!
